We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 15th International Symposium on Ionizing Radiation and Polymers, IRaP 2024.
This scientific event, which is jointly organized by Argentina and Brazil, thought its institutions: The Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica (CNEA, Argentina), and the Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN, Brazil).
The event will take place in the Rafain Palace Hotel & Conventions, in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, next to one of the 7 wonders of nature: the Iguaçu Falls. IRaP 2024 will last 5 days, starting from Monday October 28 morning, and ending on Friday November 1 at noon.
The IRaP meetings started in 1994, in France, and since then have been organized in various countries on three continents. The last meetings were organized in Japan (2022), Russia (2018), France (2016), South Korea (2014), Poland (2012), USA (2010), and Brazil (2008).
Although relatively young, the IRaP conference has established itself as an important forum for discussing the effects of ionizing radiation on polymers.
During these biannual meetings, chemists, physicists, biologists, nuclear and material engineers, and industrials working with gamma rays, electrons, ion beams and plasmas discuss new development in basic and applied radiation chemistry and physics of polymer systems, new trend in radiation processing of polymers, and emerging technologies.
Like most of the international conferences, the IRaP 2024 scientific program will comprise keynote lectures from senior scientists, invited lectures on the most innovative studies, oral and poster presentations.
The Committees of the organization are excited to present a dynamic and innovative event, which will mark the return of IRaP in person, where it will bring together specialists and researchers from all over the world. The theme selected for the congress, "Radiation Processing of Polymers for Promoting the Sustainable Development Goals", summarizes the importance of constant creativity and innovation in a dynamic and multidisciplinary science, offering a perspective current and, above all, provocative of the challenges faced by our society.
We are waiting for the oldest partners, those who have always been with IRaP, the new ones and the curious ones!
It will be a great Congress! We count on you for this important event in the POLYMERS and IONIZING RADIATION area!
